The Week Ahead

Many of you likely already know that this year's Spa, Knit and Spin is coming up this next weekend (Ravelers - there's also a Ravelry group for this here.). They've moved the venue this year from Portland up to Freeport, and I had been looking forward to attending, since it actually falls on my week off. This also turned out, however, to be the best week for me to go to South Carolina to visit my maternal grandparents.

It's been very nearly a year since my last visit, and since they're 93 and 88 and not in the best of health, there was really nothing to decide. So I'm looking forward to a few days of grits, eggs, and toast for breakfast, daffodils and Forsythia already in bloom, and spending time with my grandparents and my mother, who just retired three weeks ago and who is currently down there visiting.

News from the World of Candy Bars

Dale Earnhardt, Jr., recently entered the candy bar bidness with the Big Mo' candy bar. I wonder if he knows what "big mo'" means? Is he trying to tell us something? I suppose it doesn't really matter, since I now must buy one.

HI,

I hate to sound stupid but what does "Big Mo" mean?

I'm sorry I won't see you at SPA, but I do hope you have a wonderful visit with your grandparents and your mother!

Soak up some of the warmth for me while you're there, will ya?

I was hoping you'd make it to Spa! You're right though, you have to take the time now to get down there and visit - those opportunities aren't around forever.

You need to buy a case. Me too.

You mean you'd rather look at flowers and green living things over ice and snow and rain and ice and snow and rain and ice??? Seriously, have a great time with your grandparents. Get them to talk about some old memories or good family stories you might not know.

Have a wonderful trip and enjoy time with family! (and actual, green growing things...I feel like we haven't seen a sign of spring in forever at this point!)

And isn't it nice to know you'll have a nice chocolaty snack for the trip? Should I be disturbed by the fact that they are King Sized? Or impressed? I don't know how to feel about this...

Mwahah. A girl starts off her Monday in a MOOD, and all her blogger pals help to lift her out of it....and they didn't even KNOW she was IN a mood. I gotta have me a Big Mo'!!!!!

Sorry you're missing SPA, but glad you'll get some southern hospitality.

I very nearly signed up for SPA but just can't swing it.

A Big Mo, however...

Nevermind. My husband just gave me The Look. I'll shut up now.

(if you buy a case, honey, you just let me know...)

Good Lord, Mel, this is straight from the "Big Mo'" website. Thought you'd enjoy it: "What is Big Mo’? Sure, it’s a candy bar, but it’s also everything that Dale Jr. loves...The way you need it like oxygen, because it’s in your DNA and if you’re not around it, you can’t keep going...When you get right down to it, that’s the only thing that matters—doing what you love because you love it and not needing any other reason."

Yeah baby. That's what Ah'm talkin' about.
