Since I'm very near the deadline for KitKat's contest, this is going to be heavier on photos than words.
One year ago, I was working on socks in Mountain Colors Bearfoot for my nephew:
BSJ
The BSJ I referred to, for the person or persons who didn't know, is Elizabeth Zimmermann's Baby Surprise Jacket. This is in stash yarn (wool/mo blend, as I recall) from Rhinebeck two years ago:
The colors are a bit lighter than the photo - chocolatey brown with purple undertones and a complementary skein of hand-painted multi.
Kitty Smackdown
This has been the scene in our house for the past couple weeks:
It's actually a bit more than Tolo wants, though he instigates a lot of it. At this particular moment, he wasn't in the mood, but Cougar wasn't gonna take no for an answer. More photos on Flickr.

Told you I'd have a D'oh moment once you explained what a BSJ was.
I live with a software developer. There are days when I have to instigate a No-Acronym policy. I can only take so much before my brain explodes into "For the love of all that is holy, USE. WORDS. PLEASE." territory. Please excuse my dimwittedness :-)
Yay for me! I knew what the BSJ was!!! (I'm so often off the mark on those things...especially since I haven't knit much for babies!)
Now, that kitty picture looks much more familiar to me. It *has* settled down considerably over the years. Mostly because we are all just too old to work up the energy to deal with the conflicts. But the hatred between kitties is still very much there! I'll bet that your guys do a much better job of making peace.
What a great cat-fight shot. Terry got caught with one on her lap yesterday - One of our cats likes a good torso to sleep on almost anytime anyday, another likes a particular spot of a lap. The first ended up on that spot - the second circled around, tried another spot for a bit, but then decided to whop the heck out of the head of the first b/c the replacement spot just wasn't right. Heck of a way to wake up from an afternoon snooze LOL.
What a great kitty shot. Tolo really looks pissed!
When Buster was small, Sammy was happy to have a buddy to play with and would instigate chases. Now Buster's almost 5 and they still play with each other. Sammy's vocal but when the vocalizations turn to hisses that's when I know Sammy's had enough.
If Tolo's instigating the wrasslin', then life is good. When they gang up on Sylvie, now that's little brother stuff! Hee hee!
I'm looking forward to seeing the BSJ done.
Naughty kitties...
I love the colour of that sock yarn!
Enjoy the BSJ :)
Look at Tolo's huge paw there!
Great kitty smackdown shot - soo cute! Ahem, sorry. I'm sure they're being fierce - but I still think it's adorable!
I do like the BSJ. I have been wanting to make on, as of late, but have no one to make it for. Maybe it is time to stock up.
